Top Ten Tuesday: New to Me Authors of 2015

memefulthoughts1
Top Ten Tuesdays: Is a weekly meme feature hosted by The Broke and the Bookish where bloggers post their Top 10 List for an assigned topic! I will not be participating every week, but I will occasionally take a shot at it! You can always find these lists (past, present and original) on my Riffle Page

This Week’s Topic:

Top Ten New to Me Authors

In a couple of weeks I’ll be posting my yearly recap of my favourite and least favourite reads. But I decided to do this TTT post because I rarely rank my new favourite authors. Sure, their books top my various genre lists but I don’t have any categories for authors!

Here are my New Authors to Watch (in no particular order):

#10 – Jamie Shaw: Mayhem SERIES

I randomly stumbled upon this NA series and I am SO thankful I did. One of the best New Adult Series I read this year!

(Read my series review of Mayhem Series)

#9 – Melinda Ellen: Chancing on You

Her debut showed a lot of promise and I loved the balance her novel Chancing on You had between the realistic and dramatic situations. Can’t wait to see more of her novels in the future!

(Read my standalone review of Chancing on You)

#8 – Erin Bowman: Vengeance Road

I had never read a Western before I read Bowman’s Vengeance Road and I have to say, she opened me up to a whole new world of possibilities. I can’t wait to see what she does next!

(Read my standalone review of Vengeance Road)

#7 –V E Schwab (aka Victoria Schwab): A Darker Shade of Magic SERIES

Schab’s The Archived Series has been on my TBR since its release but I grabbed her adult Fantasy series first–and now I can’t wait to read her other series!

(Read my series review of A Darker Shade of Magic)

#6 – K A Tucker: Ten Tiny Breaths SERIES

That Tucker is a fellow Canadian is only icing on the cake. I was blown away by Ten Tiny Breaths and can’t wait to finish the rest of the series and start her other novels.

#5 – Sharon Cameron: Rook

Rook was one of the most intriguing books I read this year. I loved everything from the concept to the characters. I’m really curious to see what other worlds Cameron can create!

(Read my standlone review of Rook)

#4 – Alice Clayton: Cocktail SERIES

After finishing Emma Chase’s Tangled Series, I needed a new Adult Romance Contemporary Series that was fun to read (ie no dominating billionaire in sight). Wallbanger delivered and my only regret was not picking up this series earlier!

#3 – Leisa Rayven: Starcrossed SERIES

I adored Bad Romeo and its sequel Broken Juliet–so much that I was devastated when I finished the duo and thought the series was over. Thankfully, there is a spin-off and I can’t wait to get my hands on it!

(Read my series review of Starcrossed)

#2 – Ali Novak: The Heartbreaker Chronicles

I’m normally not a fan of YA contemporary but Ali Novak won me over with The Heartbreakers. I loved this book from start to finish and am dying to read the next book in the series!

(Read my series review of The Heartbreaker Chronicles)

#1 – Marie Rutkoski: The Winner’s Trilogy

This is the book that got me hooked in the High Fantasy YA genre this year. From the politics to the forbidden love to the seriously intelligent heroine, I couldn’t put The Winner’s Curse down earlier this year.

(Read my series review of The Winner’s Trilogy)

#If I only got One Choice – Colleen Hoover

It’s crazy to think that I just discovered Colleen Hoover this year and have already read 10 of her books! One of my all time favourite authors. Whether it is YA, NA or Adult–she is a new must read for me!
