Personal Challenges

Books  Books

One of my personal goals for this year, besides joining other challenges and getting more involved in the blogging community, is to read more classic novels as well as nonfiction books. Classics are labelled as classics for a reason and I think all serious readers should attempt to read some of these staple novels at some point in their lives. When it comes to nonfiction, I enjoy learning and there are some really great nonfiction reads that have been published in the last few years that I’ve wanted to read.

These challenges are designed by me for me and my own personal reading goals. Every year I say that I am going to read ___ or read more ___ or finish more series, etc but rarely do I follow through. This year, I’ve tried to solve that problem by joining specific reading challenges that are catered to certain tasks. I’m sure these challenges exist out there but I want to keep these two on a smaller scale and decided to create my own goals and see if I can complete them by the end of the year.

And maybe by posting them here on a public space I’ll be more inclined to meet them 😉

*I know what classifies a book as a “classic” is a little iffy. I will be basing my selections from two sources: The USA 100 Classic Book Collection list from the Nintendo DS game (found here) and the BBC’s Big Read Top 100 (found here).
