Synopsis for Royally Yours (from Goodreads):
Princess Lenora Celeste Beatrice Arabella Pembrook had an unusual childhood. She was raised to be a Queen—the first Queen of Wessco.
It’s a big deal.
When she’s crowned at just nineteen, the beautiful young monarch is prepared to rule. She’s charming, clever, confident and cunning.
What she isn’t… is married.
It’s her advising council’s first priority. It’s what Parliament is demanding, and what her people want.
Lenora has no desire to tie herself to a man—particularly one who only wants her for her crown. But compromises must be made and royals must do their duty.
Even Queens. Especially them.
**
Years ago, Edward Langdon Richard Dorian Rourke, walked away from his title and country. Now he’s an adventurer—climbing mountains, exploring jungles, going wherever he wants, when he wants—until family devotion brings him home.
And a sacred promise keeps him there.
To Edward, the haughty, guarded little Queen is intriguing, infuriating…and utterly captivating. Wanting her just might drive him mad—or become his greatest adventure.
**
Within the cold, stone walls of the royal palace—mistrust threatens, wills clash, and an undeniable, passionate love will change the future of the monarchy forever.
Every dynasty has a beginning. Every legend starts with a story.
This is theirs.

Why I Picked it Up / My Expectations:
If you read my review of the original trilogy, you know that I absolutely loved this series. I gave every book 5/5 and I plan on rereading them in the years to come. After devouring them all earlier this year, I made it my gold standard for contemporary romance. I just couldn’t get enough of these books!
So I was BEYOND EXCITED for Royally Yours. Getting that insight into such a formidable character like Queen Lenora? YES PLEASE!
What I Liked:
–I Cried–
Seems like a weird thing to like about a book but this book definitely brought out the emotions in me. Lenora’s story isn’t a lighthearted one: she’s gone through a lot. And I just thought it was amazing that I got so involved in her story and what happens in it.
And to be fair, I also laughed and swooned along the way as well.
–Fresh Plot–
I don’t read a lot of books set in the 1950s or 1960s so that was a refreshing setting to have. The culture–specifically the attitudes towards women–is so different from what we see today (well, in some ways). So it was intriguing to get the part of Lenora’s story and the struggles she faces when she becomes the first governing female monarch of her country.
–Great Character Development–
The first half of this novel definitely focuses more on Lenora but you need it to. Her experiences really set the stage for the rest of the story, and in particular Edward’s character development as well. I thought the second half of the novel focused more on Edward and his life. Which was awesome because it really helps to tie together their shared story when all is said and done.
What I Didn’t Like:
–The End Came Too Quickly–
I seriously could have read another 50 chapters on these two: they are just too perfect!
When to Read:
Honestly, you could read this book at any time. I think though you might get a little more out of it by reading it as the 4th book in the series because by then, you are super intrigued by Lenora’s story.
My Rating: 5/5
Royally Screwed 5/5 | Royally Matched 5/5 | [Royally Raised 5/5] | Royally Endowed 5/5 | Royally Yours 5/5
This was EXACTLY what I wanted from this novel! Just a solid romance with great characters and a fabulous story!
