Top Ten Tuesdays: Is a weekly meme feature hosted by The Broke and the Bookish where bloggers post their Top 10 List for an assigned topic! I will not be participating every week, but I will occasionally take a shot at it! You can always find these lists (past, present and original) on my Riffle Page!
This Week’s Topic:
Top Ten Authors I’ve read the Most
When I first saw this as this week’s topic, I had no idea how to go about it. I have a LOT of books in my “read” pile so I was dreading tallying up everything by hand. UNTIL, I discovered a nifty little feature on Goodreads while exploring my bookshelf: they have a “Most Read Author” sorter that tallies everything FOR YOU! Glorious!
Here are my Most Read Authors & the cover of my favourite novel by them!
#9 – Ally Carter – Books Read: 11 | REVIEWS: 3
Ally Carter won me over with the Gallagher Girls and she’s had me hooked ever since! One my favourite YA authors, hands down.
(Read all my Ally Carter reviews here!)
#9 – Tessa Dare – Books Read: 11 | REVIEWS: 3
While I may have outgrown my historical regency romance phase, I STILL read any book that Tessa Dare publishes! Her books are the perfect blend of romance, humour, fun and drama.
(Read all my Tessa Dare reviews here!)
#7 – Lynsay Sands – Books Read: 13 | REVIEWS: 1
When I first got into highlander and historical romances, Lynsay Sands was someone I read a lot of because of her humour. Her books were a lot of fun and that lead me to her very long Argeneau vampire series.
(Read all my Lynsay Sands reviews here!)
#7 – Julie Kagawa – Books REad: 13 | REVIEWS: 4
Julie Kagawa is one of my favourite world-building authors. The Iron Fey series had so many great interweaving elements that I quickly put her on the top of my “read-everything-she-writes” list.
(Read all my Julie Kagawa reviews here!)
#5 –Jennifer L Armentrout – Books rEad: 14 | REVIEWS: 2
While I find most of Armentrout’s work seems to follow the same formula, she always has a unique spin to her stories. Aliens, gargoyles, not-your-average-vampires–always a cool spin that keeps me interested in what she has coming up next.

#5 – Bella Andre – Books Read: 14 | REVIEWS: 3
There’s a touch of irony for me when I see Bella Andre’s name on this list. I almost stopped reading the first book I ever read by her (The Look of Love) but I pulled through and really enjoyed the sequel books in the Sullivan series.
(Read all my Bella Andre reviews here!)
#3 – Meg Cabot – Books REad: 16 | REVIEWS: 4
This list really be complete without Meg Cabot. I read her books exclusively for most of my teen years. I credit her with making me love reading and starting a love of historical romance (I’ve read Victoria and the Rogue more times than I can count). I also love her adult novels as well!
(Read all my Meg Cabot reviews here!)
#3 – Richelle Mead – Books Read: 16 | REVIEWS: 3
One of my all time favourite YA authors! But I’ve also enjoyed her adult novels as well. One of the most consistent authors I’ve ever had the pleasure of reading!
(Read all my Richelle Mead reviews here!)
#2 – H M Ward – Books Read: 18 | REVIEWS: 2
Ok, this one is a little inflated because H M Ward writes mostly serial novels so the total is so high because there are so many parts. But I do enjoy her works and how they all are interwoven together in some capacity.
(Read all my H M Ward reviews here!)
#1 – Abbi Glines – Books Read: 22 | reviews: 6
Abbi writes great dramatic New Adult novels. They have a fantastic balance between romance and drama. I simply devour them in one day and can’t wait for the next one to be published!
(Read all my Abbi Glines reviews here!)
Honourable Mentions:
- Mary Balogh – Books Read: 10 | Reviews: 0 (Fave: Slightly Scandalous)
- Louise Rennison – Books Read: 10 | Reviews: 1 (Fave: Georgia Nicolson Series)
- Colleen Hoover – Books Read: 10 | Reviews: 5 (Fave: Hopeless)
- Christina Lauren – Books Read: 10 | Reviews: 2 (Fave: Beautiful Player)
Do we read a lot of the same authors? who was on your list?

Ahh I didn’t see that sorter on Goodreads! I ended up exporting my shelf to an excel sheet and sorting it that way haha. JLA was at the top of my list as I’ve read almost all of her books. Richelle Meade was on my list too for the VA and Bloodlines series.
Oh, the excel file was a good idea! I was worried I was going to have to sort within my lists online!
My top was Jennifer L Armentrout with 18! I’ve never actually read anything Abbi Glines but I’m a fan of NA so I’ll definitely check them out.
If you like JLA, you should like Abbi Glines. They have a very similar style I think!
I read a lot of mystery series and so I just thought about it off the top of my head and then researched what books I’ve read. I haven’t read any of your authors. But I’ve been thinking of trying Meg Calbot, she sounds fun.

Meg Cabot’s books are always a lot of fun! I love her writing style. If you like mystery, I suggest The Heather Wells Series by Cabot; it’s a great blend of mystery and humour 🙂
Ooo…that sounds good! I will take a look. Thanks! 🙂
I had Meg Caot on my list this week, I’ve only read the Princess Diaries, but it’s a long enough series to make her one of my most read authors! I love Ally Carter but I’ve only read the Heist Society books so far.
My TTT: https://jjbookblog.wordpress.com/2015/08/11/top-ten-tuesday-17/
You know, I’ve only read a few of The Princess Diaries novels! I blame my small local library for only having a few of the books but I really enjoyed the ones I read and adore the movie!
I enjoyed Heist Society but the Gallagher Girls is my fave! Do you have plans to read All Fall Down? I think that series shows a lot of potential!
My sister had all the books so I just borrowed them from her. I actually liked the movie better than the book, but I did enjoy the books. I haven’t tried Gallagher Girls but I might. Yes, All Fall Down is on my TBR, I just haven’t got around to it yet.
We don’t have any authors in common, but i notice that you have Kagawa on your list -well because she is on there clearly listed so how could i not notice her?- how did you like Talon? If you read that. Because i really loved that but i see so many people complain about that book that read more by her and i was just wondering since you have her as one of you most read authors and say that you have her on top of you “want to read everything she writes” list 🙂
I will look into a few other authors you talk about and see if i am interested in reading some books by them.
Great list 🙂
Thank you!
I have read Talon and the sequel Rogue. I will admit I was a little disappointed in Talon; I wanted something with more action but I did enjoy reading. I feel like Talon was just setting up the world and I really liked Rogue more because I already had a grasp on the world. Definitely more of what I expect from Kagawa! (and much better than the Blood of Eden series if you ask me)
Good to know about Rogue. I have not gotten to that one yet, but want to really badly. So knowing that you liked it even better then Talon, makes me really want to pick it up 🙂
Thank you.
Yes, if you liked Talon you’ll definitely enjoy Rogue! I hope you get a chance to read it soon!
Awesome list, Lauren. I totally forgot about Julie Kagawa but I think I’ve read at least 6+ books by her. And I still haven’t ventured the NA realm yet but I really want to give Jennifer L. Armentrout a try. She’s just so popular!
You know, I forget that I’ve read so many books by Julie Kagawa as well! When I think of the Iron Fey Series they all just blend into one awesome book in my mind 😛
I really enjoy JLA. She definitely writes mature YA series (like Lux & Dark Elements) but I’ve really enjoyed her NA series as well. She never fails to entertain me! I hope you get a chance to read some of her books!
Thanks for stopping by my TTT!
Abbi Glines is on my TBR list. Might have to bump her closer to the front if she’s that good at NA.
Thanks for sharing!
No problem! I hope you get a chance to read her!
She is definitely one of my favourite NA authors! I hope you get a chance to read her works!
