Spring 2016 Edition
The Perfect Match: A seasonal feature where I play matchmaker but with books! What happens when you take Book A and combine it with Book B? The answer is Book C!
For this edition, I’m focusing on New Adult romance reads! Spring makes me think of new born animals and babies and I think we all know how those get here. So why not make book babies with other books?
Why This Match?
In Dark Wild Night, the leads are two people you are desperate to see end up together. You know, one of those couples that just seem so perfect for each other but they don’t even know it? Like Olivia and Nate from Before Jamaica Lane who has so much in common it’s crazy. All it takes is one crazy night of confessions–like in Schooled–to be the catalyst to get the heartstrings playing!
Why This Match?
I’m going to confess: I’ve never read One Day by David Nicholls but I know its premise. Two people meet on the same day of every year much like they do in November 9. But add to it the complex and scarred characters of Kiss a Stranger and a little of the Collen Hoover mojo and you get November 9.
Why This Match?
All of these books feature the same premise: reunited ex-lovers who have a pile of secrets between them. Dirty Secret also features a musician like Ripped does. While Rival, like Ripped, has all the antagonistic hate you can imagine when you stick two people who were hurt by the person they cared for the most in a room together.
