2025 – Let’s Binge the Backlog!
I don’t expect you to remember what I wrote in my 2024 yearly recap but the gist was that I got my reading back on track (ie I completed my Goodreads goal for the year) and found I did better binge reading series than picking up the newest releases.

As I reflect on 2025 I’d say much of that was true. You see it the most in my audiobook stats. When borrowing audiobooks from the library, I focused more on reading series where all the books were published as I found I had better luck being engaged as I could easily remember characters, plots, etc. Here are the stats of my reading year:
- 7% of books read were standalones
- 42% of books read were eBooks
- 58% of books read were audiobooks
- DNF’d 4 books
- I read 10 books that I own
- Reread 3 books
- I complete my Goodreads Goal (85 books) by reading 90
- Finished 24 book series (11 of which I started this year)!
- Average rating: 3.86
As always, I’ve decided to compile a list of my top picks (and not so great) from the various categories that I read this past 2025. Most categories deal with books published only this past calendar year (2025) but there are some noted exceptions. Click on the cover to read my review of the book/series–if available!
