Better late than never! I was so worried this wasn’t going to happen this year but I’m SO HAPPY that it is! This is one of the only readathons I take part in annually just because it is so much fun! I am SUPER excited that this readathon is back for another year!
Last year, my goal was to read the Top 4 of 10 books and I definitely did that! I eventually went on to read all the books I had selected by the end of 2016 as well.
This one is hosted by Val @ The Innocent Smiley and Ely @ Tea and Titles.
The Challenge Details:
- When is it? August 6th until August 13th, 2017
- Tag? #MakeMeRead
- How does it work? Make a list of books you want to read and then have your friends vote! You will then read the books in order of highest to lowest votes.
- My Goal: Read 4 of the below books!
- Why I need your help? I need your help voting for what books I should read!
The Selections:
For the last two years, I’ve always picked items from my TBR jar (aka books I own) for my candidates. Two reasons for this: 1) I didn’t have to depend on the library to have the books when I needed them and 2) I didn’t read my “owned” books enough. This year, according to my mid-year reading challenge recap, I’m doing a great job reading those books I own (yay!).
So this year, I’m changing it up a bit. I’ve still included some TBR jar items (I still have an August #Shelflove goal) but I’ve also thrown in some sequels I’ve been neglecting. In fact, I’ve gone 50:50!
Here are the books:
The Vote:
Even if you have never heard of some of these books, please vote! Pick your fave cover or title!
Poll has Ended! Thank you to everyone who voted! Here are the results:
If you are doing this challenge, leave a link to your post and I will gladly vote for your picks!
Thank you in advance for you vote! I really appreciate it!
Hi there,
I voted for Across a Star Swept Sea! I heard of that one and have seen it a few times on Goodreads. Best of luck to you on this readathon!
I loved the first book in that series so I’m not sure why I never read the next one! I’m hoping it does well in the poll 😛
I picked This is So Not Happening because the cover is adorable! LOL! Happy reading and good luck! 😀

Isn’t it though? The covers for that whole series are a lot of fun!
I haven’t heard of these books before but I decided to vote for This is so not Happening. I noticed it was the third book in a series and the cover reminds me of something I would probably like myself.
Hope you like the book you end up reading. Good Luck!!

I’m slightly embarassed it has taken me so long to read that third book. I don’t think it was released yet when I read the other two…or at least, that’s my story and I’m sticking to it! 😛
Thanks!
I don’t think I’ve ever heard of these books before, but I cast my vote anyway! 🙂 I hope you end up enjoying whichever book(s) you end up reading!!

Thank you! It’s a weird blend of oldies and indie reads this year for me it seems.
I haven’t heard of any of these ones, but I voted for The Savage Blue because I read Labyrinth Lost by Zoraida Córdova and I loved that one! Hope you enjoy whatever wins!!

I eye Labyrinth Lost every time I go to the library but resist because I try not to read a new series by an author I have an unfinished one for. Hopefully, I can finish that series and move on to her others. Thanks for voting!
I wasn’t sure which to pick so I closed my eyes and voted! Happy reading!
Haha I like the technique! Thanks for voting!
This is a great list, can’t wait to see the results.

Thank you for voting! I haven’t checked the results yet myself which is very hard since I’m so curious!
Trust in Me is the only book of those I’ve read so I voted for that. I kind of gave up on this series as it went on, but I did like Wait for Me and Trust in Me (I love Cam, what can I say?).
Cam is pretty great! I remember loving him in Wait For Me. I really lost track of that series–I kinda went through this phase of not reading any JLA books because they seemed so formulaic to me (at least her YA stuff) but she is one of my most read authors for a reason!
Love your list!! So fun! I have heard good things about a few of these. Thanks for voting on mine!

It looks like I’ll have some good reads regardless of the vote. I’m eager to see what makes it on top!
This is So Not Happening looks like a fun read. I chose that! I hope you enjoy the winner. I would love if you would come vote for my poll also.
Thanks for stopping by! I’m excited to see what happens in that book since the previous one left on such a cliffhanger.
On my way to vote for yours!
I have never heard of any of these, but I liked the cover for “Hitched” so that got my vote. I am doing the readathon as well. My link is: http://www.cassieslibrary.com/2017/07/first-read-thon-make-me-read-it-read.html I look forward to seeing what we both end up reading during this. Good luck!
It was the cover that made me buy Hitched 😛 It just “grabbed” my attention lol
Checking out yours now!
Wish you good luck. I don’t know much of these books, but voted for This is So not happeing 🙂 I’m doing this readathon as well.
Thanks for voting! A lot of these are older novels or indie reads so they aren’t overly known.
Good luck on your reading! Here’s my poll: https://www.instagram.com/p/BXG67cFlUju/?taken-by=1nightbookstand
Thanks for voting! Good luck with yours!
I voted! Good luck with your TBR, and I hope you enjoy whatever you decide to read. 🙂
Thank you! I’m looking forward to reading the winners!
I was unable to vote, but I would’ve picked Across the Star-Swept Sea; it looks intriguing! I hope you enjoy! 😉

Sorry about that! I had to close the poll in order to make sure I got the books from the library. But I’m very excited to read that one!
